I'm the Barnes TOY

Oh my goodness I can't believe it! Today we had Ram Rally like we always do on Mondays...but today something special happened! Mr. Riggs, our principal, took the microphone and said
"We'd like to take this moment to announce that our 2009-2010 Teacher Of the Year is.......
Mrs. Smith!"
What a very happy moment for me! It is such an honor to be chosen by my colleagues.

Annette Sears, the teacher of the year from last year passed on a bouquet of balloons to me!
Later in the day the school PTO sent me a pretty bouquet of flowers!

Then tonight my dad brought dinner and my mom brought me more beautiful flowers!

I certainly feel like there are so many other teachers at my school who deserve this honor. I am so thankful that they are such amazing role models and friends. I am so thankful they share with me and allow me to learn from them. A girl couldn't dream of a better group of people to have around.
My students were the cutest. I got hugs all day long. I love First Grade and I love teaching.

Things I want or want to do...but haven't accomplished

I'm a list maker. It's an obsession really and I think I inherited it from my dad. Maybe that is why I have all this stuff I want done that isn't done...because here i am spending my time making a list.

I want to...

clean out the hallway closet..it is sooo stuffed full of pictures and I want to put them all in albums. There pictures of my childhood. But I don't have enough albums.

redecorate my whole house...it is bugging me. There is a million things at Kirklands that I want really bad!

Find all the video files on my computer and organize them and then burn them onto CD's

Find the cd I lost of march 2006. It has the video of Parker at the hospital...I don't have another copy. :( Plus I already lost enough of his pictures when my hard-drive crashed.

find a miracle that can pull all my stuff off my old hard drive that I have been saving since like 2007.

clean the storage place in my classroom

buy 2-3 shelves for my classroom.

Take the boys on Vacation some where awesome

Buy a whole new wardrobe all at once. I have always wanted to do that. Just throw out all my clothes and shop til I drop for a whole new look.

Redo the albums I have of the boys but putting all the pics in page protectors instead of those yucky cling albums. That way they can look at them without the pics always sliding out.

Give shaun time to finish the outside door, wire the blu ray properly

start blogging again and figure out how to print a book of it. I heard that you can do that. I want to write done more things that the boys do so I can remember good and funny things...cause someday they might want to hear about it...or at least maybe their wives will.

I am sure there is a ton more!

Remembering

"I wish I wish with all my heart" , in the words of Parker, that I could remember every little thing. It is so important to me that I remember. I love so many moments in my life and it bothers me that I have a horrible memory. I think that is why I am obsessed with taking pictures and making notes. I only hope that it will help, some day when Shaun and I are old and gray, trigger visions of the past. I sort of wish somehow I could blink for T-VO in my brain and then play it back exactly as it were.
More things I want to remember some day...
Parker...
Makes up voices and words for Chandler
"I dont say scuze (excuse) me por (for) part (fart), just scuse me burp." (said at the dinner table)
told Brittany (hairdresser) "I want hair wike (like) daddies."
"My strong" "green beans make be strong and higher (taller) wike daddy. I have to pick the seeds out for him to eat them though. crazy.
The boys laugh and giggle together in the car. Chandler cracks Parker up and they are only 3 and 10 months old. It is the cutest bond ever.
Parker stapled his finger, but didn't cry til daddy took the staple out. Shaun checked and it seemed that all the staples were out, but...there was still one left. oops.
Parker says.. He (chandler) wuvs (loves) me.
Parker saw the space station fly over Owaso.. he waved and said..."Hi people"
Recites from DragonTales. I wish I wish with all my heart to fly with dragons in a land apart. (sound absolutly innocent.)

Chandler...
is so proud when he claps
likes to show his muscles and make you laugh and clap for him
loves peek a book. especially likes to duck behind the coffee table and pop up to scare you.
Still sweetly sings himself to sleep. adorable and precious.
sometimes has a machine gun laugh.
gives priceless, slobbery, open mouth kisses.
is a water baby, loves baths and anything to do with water.
plays with himself in the mirror
learnign to play catch with a ball
stands alone and is so close to taking a step by himself.
Gets so excited and giggly to play chase. He likes to get caught too.
pretends to cry. he even purposefully bonked his head on the coffee table and looked at me and tried to cry about it. Of course I scooped him up and babied him.

Moments with my boys that I would never trade or give up for the world. Every little thing... the looks, the fits even, tug my heart. Every minute with them is heaven to me. I love them with every little peice of my being. Truly, I wish, I wish with all my heart to always remember these precious moments vividly.

Falling Out

Yesterday I took Chandler to the Urgent Care. He was so happy but I just felt like something was wrong because he had an awful cough. He ended up having an ear infection and a sore throat. We got some antibiotics and stayed at home for the rest of the day. He ended up throwing up everywhere that evening, I guess because of all the drainage. Poor little guy, this is the sickest has ever been. I decided to stay home from work to take care of him today. I am hoping the antibiotics work fast. Anyway, I heard him about 2:00A.M. so I got up in a hurry and grabbed some Motrin to take to his room. When I got to his room, he was on the floor. OH MY GOSH, HE FELL OUT OF HIS BED. I hurried and flipped on the light. He was laying on his tummy crying. I cannot even believe this happened. I don't know how he did it. I picked him up and checked him out . He is perfectly okay. It really scared us both though. I woke up Shaun and he lowered his bed all the way to the bottom. Chandler ended up sleeping in between Shaun and I for the rest of the night though. Shaun said that his blanket was bundled up along the side of his bed, so maybe he stood on it and it gave him enough height to topple over. Who knows? One thing I am sure of, those angels I pray for every night to guard him, were watching over him.

Chandler walking

Chandler has been pulling up and walking along the furniture for a couple of weeks. It finally dawned on me to get out the push toys. He loves them and it is so cute to see his little chubby legs trotting along. I think he will walk before his birthday! yay!

Parker is Potty Trained

Yay! I am so excited. Parker may finally be potty trained. We have tried several times before, but he just wasn't ready. On Friday he acted like he needed to go poop so we asked him if he wanted to go in the potty. Every since he has been going all the time. Yay I am so happy. He looks so cute in his little big boy underwear! Also, he is so proud of himself. Oh, and he really loves that he gets bubble gum if he poops. 2 pieces!

Parker's Picture

Parker was drawing on his easel today, like he does often. He said... mommy, mommy look! I draw Daddy. I was amazed! This is his first drawing that actually looks like a person. He told me what everything was, his hair, eyes, nose. Then he said, oh, oh, I draw mouth. So he took the marker and added a mouth for Daddy. I love little kids pictures. This is so cute to me. What good detail for an almost 3 year old. To me anyways!
